Desert Greens Equipment Inc., with stores in Albuquerque and Belen, NM, was recently appointed the John Deere skid steer dealer for the state of New Mexico.
Founded in 1988, Desert Greens Equipment has experienced substantial growth, according to Ken Hildreth, president of the company. With the addition of the John Deere skid steers, Desert Greens Equipment now offers a range of equipment from small diesel tractor/loaders to industrial skid steers for the contractor.
Manufactured by the Work Site Division of John Deere in a state-of-the-art facility in Tennessee the skid steer line includes the 240, 250, 260 and 270. The models range from 35 to 43 kilowatts (47 to 82 hp).
“The skid steer lineup was designed from the ground up and has outstanding specifications compared to other similar products. We’re delighted to represent such a well-designed line of skid steers from an outstanding manufacturer, said Hildreth. Prior to founding the equipment dealership, he was working for John Deere Industrial, as manager for New Mexico and West Texas.
Desert Greens Equipment offers sales, support parts and service on the complete line of the John Deere skid steers at both of its New Mexico locations. The company’s sales and service representatives have received factory training on the John Deere skid steers from the John Deere Work Site Division.
Other product lines the company represents in Albuquerque include the John Deere commercial products, including small diesel tractors and mowing equipment. The Belen operation specializes in larger John Deere tractors and hay tools. Both stores also carry a consumer lineup of Kawasaki and Articat ATV’s.
