From Construction Equipment Guide... St. Joseph Equipment hosted a Case Rodeo at its equipment store, located at N1626 Wuench Road in La Crosse, Wis., Oct. 26. Fifty-five contestants competed in the event, with 275 people in attendance. The competition was hot. Guests checked out the demonstration area while keeping track of the current leaders in the backhoe rodeo competition. Nationwide in 2007, Case dealers will be holding more than 80 backhoe rodeo events to commemorate the 50-year anniversary of the first factory-integrated tractor loader backhoe — the Case Model 320. Swartz installed 1,500 linear ft. (457 m) of new SDR-26, 24 in. (60 cm) pipe in 14 ft. (4.2 m) lengths, plus seven new manhole structures. The new sanitary sewer replaces an existing 10 in. With large stretches of its main downtown streets reduced to a mess of rocks and dirt and gaping holes, Bamberg, S.C., looked more like a war zone than a quiet Southern town during work late last year and earlier this year to widen U.S. 301/601 and crossroad U.S. 78, said Earl Capps, spokesman for contractor U.S. Group Inc. “Basically, [the streets] were torn down to dirt. … We had to pull up everything [and] start over,” said Capps, whose company is based in Columbia, S.C., approximately an hour north of Bamberg.
