Testing Under Way for Case Military M400T Skid Steers →

Case Construction Equipment’s M400T military skid steer is among the first wave of new military skid steers to be produced by Case in the second half of 2009 as part of a 10-year, $160 million contract awarded by the U.S. Army TACOM (Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command). The contract calls for more than 1,900 Case skid steers and nearly 1,500 compact track loaders. Bombs to Beetles: VW Builds $1B Plant in Chattanooga →

Following nationwide competition it was announced on July 15, 2008, that a former army site near Chattanooga, Tenn., had been chosen as the location for Volkswagen’s new $1 billion U.S. assembly plant. The facility will manufacture mid-sized vehicles in the United States rather than importing them. New Holland’s L175 black-and-silver 35th Anniversary skid steer loader, which was showcased at several industry events across North America this past year, has been purchased by Nebraska-based New Holland dealer Klein’s Motor Electric Company in a tight 48-hour dealer bid.
