Replacing bridges on a hilly, congested area in Spanish Fort, AL, is not a daunting task to the prime contractors, Wallace Construction Company Inc. of Columbia, MS. From Construction Equipment Guide... Population growth in Frederick County, VA, has spurred a $32-million high school project in Winchester, VA. The groundbreaking ceremony for the 242,414-sq.-ft. (22,520 sq m) Millbrook High School was held in July 2001. According to the school board, the name was chosen to represent a connection to the area’s historical background in the milling industry, which included several mills on nearby creeks. The spectacle was definitely something to see as 22 million lbs. (9.9 million kg) of reinforced concrete slowly made a 27.5-mi. (44 km) journey up the river. The state of North Carolina has placed a contract for 33 Fermec 860SB loader backhoes and the state of New York has awarded a 12-month contract during which any state or municipal body can order Fermec loader backhoes, a deal which is estimated to demand 40 machines.
