His son, Erick, was struggling with problems slipping on snow and ice with his skid steer rubber track system. Anderson put his brainpower to work and two days later had developed and created the finished product; a steel clamp-on track device to solve slippage problems called TrakBites. One Friday evening, Dell Anderson drafted a plan to produce steel clamp-on cleats, faxed it overnight to his mechanical engineer in Shanghai, China, and by Sunday the first prototype was built. Bobcat Reps Deliver New Project to Farm-Rite Equipment in Minnesota →
Bobcat representatives delivered the company’s new CT230 compact tractor Oct. 29 to Farm-Rite Equipment in Dassel, Minn. Although Bobcat has announced that the new compact tractor line officially will be unveiled in Las Vegas in January, Farm-Rite Equipment received a tractor early and was the first to sell the CT230 model. Fifty-five contestants competed in the event, with 275 people in attendance. The competition was hot. Guests checked out the demonstration area while keeping track of the current leaders in the backhoe rodeo competition. Nationwide in 2007, Case dealers will be holding more than 80 backhoe rodeo events to commemorate the 50-year anniversary of the first factory-integrated tractor loader backhoe — the Case Model 320. Before Honda Corp. can put Burlington, N.C., on the map as the manufacturing center for a heralded new product, the company needs a facility in which to build it. This fall, Mainline Contracting Co. of Durham, N.C., jump-started the construction that will put the Japanese company in its facility. Swartz installed 1,500 linear ft. (457 m) of new SDR-26, 24 in. (60 cm) pipe in 14 ft. (4.2 m) lengths, plus seven new manhole structures. The new sanitary sewer replaces an existing 10 in. For Chandler Lloyd, owner of Able Contracting, all the toy trucks paid off. “I was a kid that never grew up,” he explained. “I liked Tonka trucks and now I like big trucks. It’s like you get paid to play.”The interest has worked out well for Lloyd, whose Ridgeland, S.C., company now has 28 trucks, one dump truck, three crushers, three excavators, two densifiers, a hammer, three loaders and three screeners.
