Southern California Faces Long Road Ahead →

From Construction Equipment Guide... Though wildfires that engulfed approximately 370,000 acres in southern California have been contained, there is still a major challenge ahead — cleanup. To start the process, a $30 million debris removal program has been launched by San Diego County officials to remove the remains of more than 1,800 buildings that were destroyed or damaged. The California State Office of Emergency Services is funding $23 million of those debris removal costs, while the San Diego County Board of Supervisors is funding the other $7 million.  Click for more...

But Monroe Roadways, of Charlotte, N.C., is benefiting from a less-than-ordinary situation in its $21 million housing development project in Waxhaw, N.C., that the group took over in March 2006. “We’ve had almost no rock to deal with, just dirt and clay. Bobcat Reps Deliver New Project to Farm-Rite Equipment in Minnesota →

Bobcat representatives delivered the company’s new CT230 compact tractor Oct. 29 to Farm-Rite Equipment in Dassel, Minn. Although Bobcat has announced that the new compact tractor line officially will be unveiled in Las Vegas in January, Farm-Rite Equipment received a tractor early and was the first to sell the CT230 model. This fall, Mainline Contracting Co. of Durham, N.C., jump-started the construction that will put the Japanese company in its facility.
