John Deere Unveils New Cotton Pickers, Strippers to Boost Harvesting Capacity, Preserve Cotton Quality →

John Deere has introduced two new cotton harvesters — the CP770 cotton picker and CS770 stripper. These machines can help farmers harvest every pound of seed cotton possible while preserving cotton quality from the field to the gin floor. The CP770 and CS770 are the most productive cotton harvesters ever built by John Deere, the manufacturer said. Deere & Company has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Bear Flag Robotics for $250 million. Founded in 2017, the Silicon Valley-based startup develops autonomous driving technology compatible with existing machines. Monarch Tractor will deploy its fully electric, driver-optional, smart tractor at Hopville Farms in Oregon. Funded through the USDA's Conservation Innovation Grant program, the tractor will be utilized to automate specific blueberry field maintenance tasks in an effort to reduce the use of diesel fuels while improving farming productivity. May 2021 U.S. Farm Tractor Sales Show Small Blip →

A slowdown in the sales of sub-40 hp units pulls total U.S. total farm tractor sales negative, while all other segments and Canada continue strong growth according to the latest data from the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM).
